Misc Baltimore Landmarks

Here are a few more sites from Baltimore that I took earlier this week.

As I was walking back from the lighthouse, I stopped to take a few pictures of the Christopher Columbus statue, this is right across the street from little Italy, so it was nice to get the Italian flags waving in the background.  Also, if you look very carefully in the background you can see the lighthouse.

This pagoda is in Patterson park, it was designed in 1890 by Charles H. Latrobe.  It has such a great charactor about it, I will have to go back one sunday and go inside.

This star spangled banner monument is directly in from of the pagoda.  It is very sweet looking, but what really interested me was the knitted accessories that someone added to the monument.

I think this practice is called yarnbombing, where you add knitting to public places.  I have seen knitted items on street signs and trees, but I loved these little touches.

Finally I stopped at the greek orthodoz church in Baltimore.  I just love the unusual shape of this church, it just looks very midievil and gorgeous.

The details on the arches and stained glass were so intricate.

I'll have to check out the hours that this church is open to visitors and take some pictures of the stained glass from inside one day.

Love Always,

Meg
